Our Pastor: The Rev. Leslie D. Weber (she/her/hers)

Pastor Leslie has been serving Grace since 2015.  She is not your "stereotypical Christian."  On top of being a young-is woman, (which some find weird enough for a pastor), she is socially liberal, pro-choice, open/affirming, environmentally conscience, and believes in science.

Our Minister of Music: Morgan N. Hatfield  (they/she)

Picture
Composer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter Morgan N. Hatfield (they/she) has been involved in church music from a young age. Her musical activities over the years at a number of churches around the Hampton Roads area have included playing piano, trumpet, and French horn; singing in choirs; acting in musical dramas; and leading worship.
As an eclectic composer, they have written for a variety of settings and mediums. Their works include:
  • "Blasting Off!" (2016), written for vacation Bible school
  • The score for the short film, "Nothing But…" (2016) that premiered at the Naro Theater in Norfolk
  • Music for a Winter Wedding (2013), for string quartet
  • The Capricious Sprite (2012), a sonata for clarinet and piano.
Morgan graduated from Old Dominion University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition. While attending ODU, she studied with Dr. Adolphus Hailstork, Marlene Ford, and Oksana Lutsyshyn. They were a member of the ODU Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra and is a plankowner of the Monarch Marching Band. As part of the Musical Theatre Workshop, they were in productions of Guys and Dolls and Closer Than Ever. In their spare time, she enjoys creative writing, reading and watching science fiction and fantasy, and roleplaying games.

Our Church Secretary: Jody Miller (she/her/hers)

Jody Miller
Jody has worked as secretary at Grace since December of 2009.

Although born in Anchorage, Alaska, she has spent the majority of her life in Chesapeake. She is a graduate of Indian River HS and Virginia Tech.

She enjoys reading, volunteering, a good practical joke, laughing with her husband, walking her dog, and making her teenage daughter roll her eyes.

Worship Tech Host: Savanna Baltero (she/her/hers)

Picture
Savanna Baltero is the Tech Host for the church helping to stream the services to those viewing from home. Even though she’s behind the scenes she loves serving people, as it's been her favorite part of every role she’s ever taken on.

Born in California and raised in Hawaii, she has called Virginia home for over 15 years. She has somehow always found her way back to her favorite place - the beach! Ever since she was a child dancing has been her biggest passion, and continues to be a hobby that she shares with her fiancé and her daughter. If you peek in the church tech booth you’ll find her dancing in her seat to the church music!

Savanna is a firm believer in spreading love, kindness, and acceptance, which is why she’s so happy to be a part of such a wonderful church that shares those ideals!

Worship Tech Host: Bella Bejarano (she/her/hers)

Picture
Bella is a high school senior in Tallwood's Global Studies and World Languages Academy and the Visual Arts program at the Norfolk Governor's School for the Arts. In the fall, she will be attending James Madison University to earn a degree in Biology.

She enjoys working with kids and has been babysitting since 2019.
